Hitfilm, and NLEs in general were built to work with relatively short clips - say under 30 minutes. ![]() Honestly, you're going to be better off transcoding anyway. ![]() Your file might be in other formats Hitfilm can't support. Otherwise you might have something like an MKV file. Your solution, assuming your file type is "MP4" is to download the HEVC codec from the Microsoft store. Microsoft removed the HEVC codec from Windows im 2017. Well, Hitfilm Express uses the codecs built into the OS. You might have h.265/HEVC data in your mp4 file. Problem is "MP4" files are a CONTAINER, and, confusingly, "MP4" files can hold data in codecs which are not h.264/AVC. I'm going to assume you have "MP4" files. If I'm wrong then transcoding will be your only option. I'm gonna take a wild stab and, if I'm right, I'm gonna fix your issue. The exclamation point specifically means you've loaded a video Hitfilm can't read. ![]()
